Conservation Caravan Safaris is founded and operated by Ombeni Samson Maka and Kirsten Hansen. Ombeni was born and raised in Tanzania. He brings over 20 years of experience as an expert safari guide and cultural liaison. Kirsten was born and raised in Seattle, WA, USA. Her love of travel and passion for animal conservation brought her to Africa. Together we take great pride in providing our guests with the experience of a lifetime.
We are different than most tour operators in that we do not restrict our guests to specific departure dates. Instead, we customize each African safari itinerary to your wishes and limitations. We present many options to help you plan your dream trip. You are limited only by flight schedules and your imagination.
The trips we offer are well organized. Our staff are professionals, and we are excellent at problem solving should something unexpected occur.
Our vision is to give you the African experience of a lifetime.
Our team has extensive experience in safari planning/coordination and wildlife exploration and conservation. Each of our guides has personally explored every National Park in Tanzania. Our founder has lived, traveled and worked in Tanzania, Kenya, Asia, Europe and USA, where he developed his passion and respect for other continents and cultures.
Living and working in Tanzania for more than 20 years has given me an intimate knowledge of this beautiful country that is unparalleled. For me nothing beats the endless plains of Serengeti, the natural beauty and diversity of animals in Ngorongoro crater, without forgetting Kilimanjaro Climb to " the roof of Africa”" – Ombeni Samson Maka.
