The Northern Circuit is the most visited area of Tanzania. Beginning and ending your journey in Arusha, you will visit Tarangire Natinal park, Lake Manyara National park, the Serengeti National park and the king of the food chain; the Ngorongoro Crater. A cultural highlight of the Northern Circuit is a visit to the Hadzabe tribe in Lake Eyasi, the last hunter-gatherers in Tanzania. This circuit is ideal for those who primarily come to Tanzania for the wildlife watching, want modest driving hours a day, have limited time or want to combine their road trip with a Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar add-on.

1Day 1 : welcome to Arusha
Arusha town is a pleasant introduction to East Africa. It is a green, orderly town with nice coffee shops and restaurants. Considered the safari capital of Africa, its bustling with Land cruisers, safari guides and the likes but your trendsetter when going on self drive safari. Accommodation at Karama Lodge(BB).

2Day 2 : Arusha- Tarangire National park
Drive: 150km/2.5hours.
Hit the road towards Tarangire National park. From Arusha, it’s an easy 2 hour journey on smooth asphalt road ,so you can still bite some dusts for your fist afternoon self drive safari in Tarangire national park. The park is very famous for its big herd of elephants and baobabs. Animal’s concentration peaks between July till the start of the rain in November, early December. Accommodation will be at Whistling Thorn.

3Day 3 : Tarangire national park-Lake manyara National park
Drive: 100km/1.5hours.
Enjoy the early morning drive in Tarangire National park. After breakfast, you travel to karatu-the base from which to visit the Lake manyara National park. Enroute you pass mto wa mbu, a lively , tropical village. It is said to be the only place in Tanzania where representatives of 120 Tanzania Tribes lives in harmony together. 4Day 4 : Enjoy Lake manyara Full game drive
Lake manyara is a shallow soda lake, set at the base of the Western rift valley Escarpment. The northwestern Lake shore and its Hinterland are protected in a scenic national park. Manyara is one of the Tanzania`s smallest par, yet boosting a very diverse flora and fauna-savannah, acacia woodlands, rocks, grassy, floodplains and tropical rainforest. An exciting aspect of Lake Manyara is the opportunity to stretch your legs. The park offers suburb birding and guided walking safaris along the shore to the hot springs and flamingo lookout point. 5Day 5 : Lake manyara-Lake Eyasi
Drive: 80km/2.5hours
If you’re looking for something unique and different, Lake Eyasi is recommended off-the -beated track deviation. It is a cultural highlight because of the unique opportunity to hunt with Hadzabe tribe. Lake Eyasi is a shallow soda lake at the remote southern border of the Ngorongoro conservation Area. From Manyara it’s a 30 minutes smooth drive to karatu town, from where you continue off road for some 2 hours on the rough, rock roads, so drive slowly and carefully.
The lake Eyasi cultural Tourism program regulates tourism in the area. You find the office at Mangola on the main road. You need to stop here to pay the mandatory entrances fees and it is also where you arrange a guide for your hunting experiences with the Hadzabe tribe or any other cultural activities that you like to do. 6Day 6 : Lake Eyasi-Ngorongoro crater
Drive: 40km/2hours
Join the Hadzabe tribe on a hunt means getting up at 5am. It’s a unique experience. The Hadzabe are Tanzanians only remaining tribe of true hunter-gatherers. Their Language is characterized by clicks, reminiscent of southern Africa’s san.
The Hadzabe lives in nomadic family bands and they live on what nature provides. Hunting with poisoning arrows and honey gathering are generally male activities while women and children collect roots, seeds and fruits. The hunting men are fast and will not wait for you, so some level of fitness is required. You return to you lodge around 10am for your breakfast. After the late breakfast you continue to karatu, gateway to Ngorongoro crater. Accommodation at Rhino Lodge.

7Day 7 : Fully day Ngorongoro crater
After great breakfast to our Lodge, you will drive to Ngorongoro crater. You will spend a full day in the park with a picnic lunch. The ngorongoro crater is an UNESCO world Heritage site. The crater is the world’s largest intact caldera and is the only place in the world when you have a very high chance of seeing the big 5 animals in one day. Good to know that the Highlands of the Ngorongoro conservation Area contain more extinct Volcanoes and Calderas such as Empakai Crater and Oldivai George. 8Day 9 : Ngorongoro crater-Serengeti national park
Drive: 40km/1-3hours
Time to visits the Grand Dame, Serengeti National Park. The park is Massive, so our Travel experts will guide you with where to go and permit arrangements for you. Accommodation at View Mobile camp.

9Day 9 : Enjoy Serengeti national park Full day
Enjoy a day of game drives. Early morning and late afternoon drive are the best. It’s great fun to drive yourself, but if you find it is hard to sport the predators, our guide will be back of you and help you where possible. Accommodation at Nyati Tented camp

10Day 10 : Serengeti national park -Arusha
Drive: 300km/5.5hours
Perhaps you can’t get enough of the game viewing and you stay another day, otherwise make your way back to Arusha. Your last stay will be at the foothills or mount meru, in between Arusha and Moshi. Accommodation at African View Lodge.

11Day 11 : Enjoy Arusha and surroundings
After the hectic safari schedule, the surroundings of Arusha are nice to explore. USA river is the great for mountain biking, lake duluti for canoeing, moshi town is nice to visits and offer cultural coffees tours, mount Kilimanjaro and mount meru is fantastic for walking and hiking or just enjoying some chilling at the pool of your lodge.
